The suburbs are creepy, man.
I actually enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. Levin's prose is very simple and the book is quite short (more a novella, really), making it an easy and quick read. There is still a lot of substance, though, and themes that stand up well -- it barely feels dated at all. Supremely suspenseful (even though I knew the basic plotline), and a surprisingly feminist tale.
